Responsible for assisting customers in understanding and navigating the UC Student Health Insurance Program. Primary duties consist of but are not limited to answering customer inquiries, performing research and implementing solutions, writing administrative referrals, processing itemized billing statements, determining eligibility to waive, and updating computer records. Job requires excellent computer and people skills. Reqs: High School Diploma or equivalent. Work experience in a customer service environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills, effective interpersonal skills. Must be organized, detailed oriented, accurate and dependable. Notes: Fingerprint background check required. Must be completed before employment and date of hire. Mandated reporting requirements of Child Abuse and Dependent Adult Abuse. Any HIPAA or FERPA violation is subject to disciplinary action. To comply with Santa Barbara County Public Health Department Health Officer Order, this position must provide evidence of annual influenza vaccination, or wear a surgical mask while working in patient care areas during the influenza season. This is a 12 month per year career position at 100% position. Student Health is closed between the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays. $19.48-$21.20/hr.
