LEGAL ASSISTANT or Paralegal Position

General practice law firm in downtown Santa Barbara is looking for an experienced part-time legal assistant or paralegal with a strong work ethic that has the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a productive office environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist general practice attorney(s) in the following areas: Family Law, Estate Planning, Probate, Will Contest, and Trust Litigation. Tasks include preparing legal documents and pleadings for filing with court, requesting discovery responses and responding to discovery requests, drafting correspondence, managing calendars, answering phones, screening new clients, organizing legal files, billing, interacting with clients on behalf of attorneys, and other duties as needed.

Prefer candidate with experience in the above referenced practice areas. Must be proficient with computer software including Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook. Candidate must be able to problem solve independently, but also know when to seek assistance. Professional conduct with clients is essential.

Compensation depends upon experience. Our law office is seeking a permanent part-time position between sixteen to twenty-five hours per week, which has the potential to become full-time. Please submit your cover letter and resume by email to for consideration.
